Monday morning blues are nothing new to lawyer, Mark McCoy, an associate of prestigious New York law firm, Ashley, Stepford & Simpson. But the Monday when he finds his boss, John Simpson murdered in his office, Mark had no idea just how bad things are going to get. With no alibi, he is soon on the run from the law, a determined detective hot on his heels. He finds himself discovering secrets about his boss that he'd rather not know, as well as others from his law firm, and all of them seem to have a motive for wanting Simpson dead, but who is the real culprit?
This is a fast paced, well plotted novel, which will have you keep reading to find out what happens next. The novel may be short but it's perfectly formed, with as many twists, turns and dead ends like the most complex of mazes. Red herrings come thick and fast and will keep you guessing right up until the end of the book.
A lawyer himself, the author has created a realistic backdrop to the tale, with well developed characters and little tidbits about the law, without the story getting too bogged down in unnecessary details. A great read.
