Dr. Joanne MacRae has little time for a soical life, she is elbow deep in a secret project, code named "Radiant Sword", working to a deadline. She has little time for anything else in her life, including men. So when she received a phone calle form David D’Escoyne, a computer programmer who has recently moved nearby, she wonders if it’s just coincidence.

David is also a musician in his spare time and persudes Joanne to accompany his flute playing on the piano, something she tries to find the time for. But Joanne is still suspicious of David, is his arrival in her life more than just luck? He disappears for weeks on end and forgets dates he’s made with her. Is he more interested in the project that her?

Joanne discovers a mysterious group of rogue agents who call themselves, the High Court and would like nothing better than to see Radiant Sword fail. Is David lying to her or is there more to it than that?

This is a fast paced, well written book with lots of twists and turns. My only complaint would be that a lot of the reasons behind David's behaviour was revealed at the beginning of the book. I would have preferred those details to be hinted at first and then revealed more gradually over the next chapters. Suspense works best when you don't know the reasons behind everything at the outset.

Does that mean that the book isn't interesting or intriguing? No, the book is both and holds your interest. And you want to read on to find out what will happen to the blossoming romance between David an Joanne. What will she do when she finds out David's secret? Well, you'll just have to read to find that one out!

A good book.
